OraReader (“the App”) is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. Your books, reading progress, and preferences stay entirely on your device.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Account credentials (no account required)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers for tracking purposes
  • Reading habits or history
  • Content of imported books or documents

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party:

  • Imported books and documents (EPUB, PDF)
  • Reading progress and bookmarks
  • App preferences and settings
  • Generated audio files for text-to-speech playback

Text-to-Speech

OraReader uses on-device and cloud-based text-to-speech technology to generate audio from your books. When you use the listening feature, small portions of text may be processed by a TTS service to produce audio. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored. No personal information or identifiers are included in these requests.

Book Discovery

The Discover feature allows you to search for public domain books via Open Library. Search queries are sent directly to the Open Library API. We do not log, store, or track your search queries.

In-App Purchases

OraReader may offer optional in-app purchases processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs the handling of purchase data.

Analytics

OraReader does not use any analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or behavioral analytics.

Third-Party Services

The App interacts with the following third-party services:

  • Open Library API — for discovering free public domain books
  • Apple App Store — for processing purchases

Children's Privacy

OraReader does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal data from any user, the App is safe for use by people of all ages.
